Unavailability of the ru-7 cloud platform resources (Moscow)
Updates
On July 15, a failure occurred in the ru-7 pool, rendering resources with public IP addresses inaccessible and causing virtual machines and cloud services to lose connectivity with the external network. The outage occurred twice: first from 14:30 to 14:56, and again from 19:30 to 20:11.
The issue stemmed from an error in the network equipment configuration automation service. During routine operations to allocate new subnets, a critical network interface on the pool’s routers was inadvertently deleted. Service was manually restored by 14:56; however, during a subsequent operation involving a different subnet, the same mechanism deleted the interface again at 19:30.
The incident affected only the ru-7 pool and resources using Floating IPs; other pools and network connection types remained unaffected.
To prevent a recurrence, we have added protection for critical interfaces to our automation algorithms; the system can no longer delete or modify them during subnet operations. Additionally, we have suspended similar network changes pending a full verification of the algorithm across other pools and have scheduled further automation improvements.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact our support team, and we will be happy to help.
Access to resources is being restored.
If the problem persists, please contact technical support.
We are recording difficulties with accessing the public addresses of the cloud platform resources in the ru-7 pool (Moscow).
Our engineers have already localized the cause and are engaged in restoration work.
